You can refer yourself for counselling by phoning me directly (01727 375070), or you ask your GP or another health professional to refer you for an initial consultation. This first meeting will give us the opportunity to discuss together whether counselling is likely to be of benefit to you and to ask any questions before beginning.
Seeing a counsellor or therapist provides an opportunity to talk to someone in private to get help with difficult feelings and it can be a very positive step at a difficult time. Counselling and therapy offer a safe space in which to think about your life and relationships, and how you would like to be living.
Many people come for counselling initially to deal with a specific issue over a period of several months but some then decide they want to make deeper changes and so continue in longer-term work which can take several years.
Sessions are once-weekly, last for fifty minutes, and cost £40 per session (The initial consultation is £50 and lasts 90 minutes). I reserve a few reduced fee places for people on low incomes.
My practice is located in St Albans, ten minutes from Junction 21A and Junction 22 of the M25, 15 minutes from Junction 8 of the M1, or a short bus ride from St Albans City Station.
St Albans is within easy reach of Barnet, Borehamwood, Brookmans Park, Bushey, Dunstable, Elstree, Flamstead, Harpenden, Hatfield, London Colney, Luton, Markyate, Potters Bar, Radlett, Redbourn, Stevenage, Watford, Welwyn, Welwyn Garden City and Wheathampstead.
